Kendriya Vidyalaya Churachandpur was established in the year 1986 with one section each from class 1 to V. By increasing one class every year the Vidyalaya reached class X in the year 1991. In the session 2010-11, the Vidyalaya started XI Commerce stream.
In the beginning the classes were run in a small Kacha Hut made of Bamboo. In the year 2000, the agreement of land deed was completed with the BSF authority. The land was transfer to KVS and the construction of A- Type new building was completed in 2002, and Vidyalaya is shifted from Kacha hut to the new building in the same year. It is surrounded by hills from all sides. Now the Vidyalaya is having a strength of 300 student with 17 regular staff and 05 contractual teachers. The Vidyalaya is in Civil paramilitary sector BSF located at district Churachandpur, Manipur.
Infrastructural facilities available in the campus:-The Vidyalaya is having more than 16 class rooms. There is good Science lab with modern equipments, a library with more than 4000 books. 10 monthly periodicals and 05 weekly periodicals and 03 daily newspapers. There is a Computer lab with 18 computers for student and two for staff. The Vidyalaya is also having games and sports room, SUPW room, Music room , Mathematics lab, Social Science lab, Activity room, PTA room, Medical room, Children’s Park and CCA room etc.
Our Mission
KVS has a four fold mission viz:-
- To cater to the educational needs of children of transferable Central Government employees including defence and para military personnel by providing a common programme of education.
- To pursue excellence and set the pace in the field of school education.
- To initiate and promote experimentations and innovations in education in collaboration with other bodies like CBSE, NCERT, etc.
- To develop the spirit of national integration and create a sense of “Indianness” among children.
